Going Green(er) for Xmas

We can be sure of two things: commerce-driven pressures will ensure many people have a stressful lead-up to the Holiday, and that there will be huge amounts of avoidable waste generated. Need it be like this?

Click 'here' to see our new document suggesting ways we can enjoy the Season in greener, cheaper and more proportionate ways, which might leave a little afterglow.

Best wishes to all

Recycle your unwanted electrical goods - Saturday 27th September

There's opportunity to get rid of your unwanted electrical items - working or not working - this Saturday (27th September 2014), organised by Derbyshire County Council. They're setting up a special collection and testing facility at Tesco's, Whaley Bridge from 10.00a.m. - 4.00p.m., ensuring best use is made of each. Electrical and electronic waste is a growing proportion of waste disposed of, and too much ends up in the wrong place (landfill, toxic dumps in poorer countries). So...........it might be that you can make good use of this one-off facility, and help ensure a fitting destination for your unwanted goods.
